Bangkok International Darts League End of Season report.

(7th July 2010) Fighting-Thai-Rish darts team unanimously agreed that this will be the last season that Vichai's TDA team wins in the BIDL, Johnny & Jayke have been up north in Thailand training with one of Thailand's most renowned monks. Angelina Jolie pointed them in the right direction but told the two of them to watch out for the Tattooist. Fighting Thai-Rish Darts team vowed to be the supreme winners of the Season III of the BIDL which starts in a few weeks time and continues to grow despite the recent down turn in tourism in Thailand and lack of available dart players. Fighting-Thai-Rish, resident team at Corner Bar on Soi 22 will take no prisoners in the coming season after finishing in joint second place with Moes Angels in Division One of the BIDL.

Vichai's TDA again takes the top spot for Season II and the awards ceremony and party will be at the Sportsman Pub next week. The Sportsman bar will be adding a trophy to their shelf this season for finishing 1st place in Division two followed closely with Sports Corner Bar in second and Pelican Saints in Third.

GLO who play at Newcowboy bar also did well in there first season, they came in 4th place and now that they are settled in are keen give to Vichai's TDA a fight for the title for season III of the BIDL. Fighting-Thai-Rish reportedly said from their straw hut up north via carrier pigeon that they are not worried about GLO's teams comments regarding next seasons title, Corner Bar; with their new and improved skills they picked up while doing yoga in the middle of rice field feel they are stronger team than GLO and winning the title next season won't be a problem.

With 99% of teams in the BIDL returning for the third installment and a few new teams jumping on the wagon we should see some great darts in the coming weeks. The new season, the Third Season of the Bangkok International Darts League Sponsored by the Thailand Darts Association, The Sportsman Pub and DartsThailand.com will kick off in 2 weeks time.

(30 May 2010) The BIDL resumed league play Thursday 03 June following the original schedule for all matches. Matches that were missed as a result of the curfew will be played at the end of the season. KaptainK already has this updated on the schedule here. With the season nearing an end we'll be starting the planning for the End of Season Party. All suggestion you may have for the party are certainly appreciated. Email us or let us know when you see us around the dart bars campus.

(16 March 2010) Last Thursday 11 March was another bye night for my team and an opportunity for me to get around to different bars for some team and group photos. The way my darts have been flying lately - I think it's safe to say that my team will "encourage" me to go out and shoot more photos anytime we have enough players.

I started the night at D'Pelican Inn with one team shot. Captain Phil and the boys from Silver Dollar weren't ready for photos that night. From there I went to Bourbon St. hosting the GLO team.

Next moving a few doors down the 52 Bar was hosting Vichai's TDA. Next I went over to the plaza. The Flaming Moe's in house teams match was postponed.

From there to Moonshine hosting the Square One team. Last stop I got over to Sportsman hosting Chalkie's.

Was only intending on posting 1st time ton 80s but can you believe it? The lovely Miss Aoi got another one so soon after her first one. Watch out for this fast moving up-and-coming darter!

The full size images posted here are for website purpose and greatly reduced from my originals - so if you want one for printing just email me (johnny@dartsthailand.com) and I'll send you a printable full size copy. We'd like to have team photos of all the teams for presentation at the end of season party. I'll do my best to get around to all the games I can but any team that wants to spend more time on a team photo and individual photos can contact me any time you can get your team assembled. - - BIDL Admin - Keiran & Johnny

"Bangkok International Dart League...last game...286 to finish...Mike steps up to the line...partner Ron shouts "I can close 106"...Mike quickly retorts "106 it will be"...three darts later 106 it is! Of course Ron didn't close 106!

Many thanks to Ron of "The Sport Corner" darts team for submitting Mike's Ton-180 photo and his remarks. We're all still waiting for Sport Corner's own Tim for his overdue report. Word around the dart bars is that Tim's been scoring excellent grades in Ned's (of Silver Dollar) intensified, advanced procrastination course for wannabe darts players! We all appreciate any and all contributions that you the players make to this page. To view the thumbnail (right) at full size - just click on it.

Greetings to all BIDL members, what we are introducing here is a current league news update that we hope you will not only enjoy but also contribute your reports. No - this is not replacing DT's Newsletter which will be out again soon - very soon. But what we hope to create here is a weekly update supported by you the players of BIDL. The newsletter - when operating on monthly schedule - only offers a brief overview of the league's progress. This is intended to be a more informal clubhouse report of the things that make darts fun, amusing and enjoyable at all levels of play. Many times there are interesting and or amusing happenings on match nights that are not recorded on the score sheet.

We don't want play by play recount of the entire match but any highlights you feel are noteworthy. Someone's first 180 - special food and drinks from a host bar - lowest score of the night - you get the picture (pun intended) we'll also publish photos sent on for this league update page. Anyone wanting to contribute is welcome. All the major stats will still be found on the League Republic site (links above).

Your first 180 may not be the biggest benchmark one remembers in life but it surely is an event any dart player will remember. We'd like to recognize those who've recently come on-board. Miss Aoi playing for the Sportsman team is really new to darts and already showing her skill with her first 180 at an away match to boot. Truth be known - most players in the league already believe the lovely Miss Aoi is the real skill & brains behind their entire team. Certainly not new to darts is the far-less-than-lovely Kaptain K of Chalkie's Bar. Although he has scored a 180 before this was his first in league play. Now I'm not one of those conspiracist theory types - but - what's wrong with this picture? The guy's playing league for years but his first 180 is at an away game at Dollhouse Agogo - hmm . . . interesting.

For those of you new to darts anywhere or those new to darts here in Bangkok - I'd like to introduce you to some of the faces that you have been reading about here. Richard Lowy of Unicorn Darts & Vichai Govindani of TDA (Thailand Darts Association). They go back a long way and the photo is from Richard's latest visit shot at The Sportsman. TDA carries a full line of Unicorn Products and Vichai has just received a new shipment. So - if you're not getting enough "ton-80s" with your current set of darts check out the TDA site or talk to Vichai for a new set of darts that he "guarantees" will have you shooting like Phil Taylor in no time! Looking forward to your report! We all get tired of the "same" people reporting and welcome new blood. Please keep it clean - polite and with no flaming of other members in the league or any of our valued host bars.

Looking forward to reading your contributions. Email all your reports to either keiran@dartsthailand.com or johnny@dartsthailand.com - cut-off for "this week" is when we up-date next week's page. Please feel free to make any immediate comments on the DT Forum - BIDL Category. As always - we appreciate any & all sensible suggestions - comments - criticisms - critiques or complements. The BIDL is a league run by standard of international darts leagues. Thanks your interest in darts - our league and making the BIDL grow. - BIDL Admin - Keiran & Johnny

League Republic - the free hosting for stats we use - have changed their "set" width. As a result we had to further shorten our abbreviations for all recorded stats. This key will also be found on-line until you are familiar with the abbreviations. To go directly to the individual statistics page
